Most of the history of Afghanistan is pitted with war. Starting with the English in the early 1900's, moving to the Soviets in the later part of the 20th century, and finaly with themselves into the 21st century.

Afghanistan is the cesspool of Asia. Each city is controlled by it’s own warlord. The capital city Kabul is run by the Mafia which seems to be taking orders from Saeder-Krupp.

• Landlocked; the Hindu Kush mountains that run northeast to southwest divide the northern provinces from the rest of the country; the highest peaks are in the northern Vakhan (Wakhan Corridor)
• Limited natural fresh water resources; inadequate supplies of potable water; soil degradation; overgrazing; deforestation (much of the remaining forests are being cut down for fuel and building materials); desertification; air and water pollution
• 34 provinces (velayat, singular - velayat); Badakhshan, Badghis, Baghlan, Balkh, Bamian, Daykondi, Farah, Faryab, Ghazni, Ghowr, Helmand, Herat, Jowzjan, Kabol, Kandahar, Kapisa, Khowst, Konar, Kondoz, Laghman, Lowgar, Nangarhar, Nimruz, Nurestan, Oruzgan, Paktia, Paktika, Panjshir, Parvan, Samangan, Sar-e Pol, Takhar, Vardak, and Zabol

There are two main sources of income in Afghanistan:

• The silk road
• Opium
  

Since the early 21st century Afghanistan has regained it's title as the main producer of Opium in the world, combined with the new silk road as a means to export this product to the rest of the world.
