Damien Knight

Damien Knight is the President/CEO and Chairman of the Board of Ares Macrotechnology, and the second bigggest shareholder with about 23.7% of the votes. A close friend of both Dunkelzahn and Kyle Haeffner, he helped finance and support their presidential campaigns in 2057 and 2060. He has a longstanding rivalry with Leonard Aurelius and has some connection (and again, a rivalry) to Lucien Cross.

He appeared on 24 January 2033 when the Nanosecond Buyout made him the biggest shareholder of Ares, and ever since has maintained an air of mystery about his origins. It is only known he is about sixty-five years old, and went through several treatments of Leonization. He is believed to be Major David Gavilan of the US Air Force who worked for the US National Security Agency and the private group Acquisition Technologies (where he first met Lucien Cross), and was the leader of Echo Mirage. He was given an antique chessboard from Dunkelzahn's private collection through Dunkelzahn's Will, with a missing piece (a king). He is recognized as being an excellent grandmaster chess player (he supposedly has played chess several times against Dunkelzahn and won on occasion) and as being the most eligable bachelor of the UCAS.
