[edit] Canis igni

The Flame Jackal is the Awakened form of the common southern European jackal (Canis aureus), and resembles a larger version of the common jackal with red-brown body fur. Its belly and throat fur consists of black and brown hairs highlighted by a yellow tint.

The flame jackal is a cautious scavenger of fruit, birds, eggs, fish, and small mammals. They are notable for a complete immunity to fire and the ability to project flame in a sheath around its body. They tend to flee from confrontations, and only use their powers in self-defense or when cornered.

The flame jackal is found throughout Greece, Spain, and the Balkan States.
