[edit] To Do

Since I assume this concerns small arms manufacturers, I'm contemptlating adding information on technical advances in arms technology. I'm also, if I can find enough references, canon mentions of calibers of weapons (I recall at least three or four: one that was mentioned in an adventure module (Ares Predator 10x39mm), the .656 caliber for the Ranger Arms SM-3 that came from Elven Fire, one that popped out of one of the sourcebooks (IIRC, 7mm assault rifle cartridge), the 6mm Gyrojet, plus extrapolations (5-7C would be 5.7mm, and the Steyr TMP using 9mm).

Since it's mentioned, the class calibers could then be extrapolated, with few exceptions (the AK-97 Carbine, the AUG-CSL SMG option, and, possibly, the M24A3 Carbine would most likely use assault rifle cartridges)--YoungFreud 00:48, 13 Dec 2004 (Eastern Standard Time)

[edit] - Assault cartridges -

I wonder if the classic caliber for assault rifles wouldn't go up a notch since the apparition of trolls and the like. (for example the .656 caliber of the ranger Arms compared to nowadays heavy caliber rifles (0.5 cal)

I mentioned in the above passage about 7mm high-velocity assault rifle rounds being mentioned in a SR2-era sourcebook, IIRC, but I haven't been able to look for the snippet until recently. I think the .656 reference was really done as an explanation of why the Ranger Arms sniper rifle does so much more damage than the Remington hunting rifles or assault rifles.--YoungFreud 01:58, 21 Dec 2004 (Eastern Standard Time)
