Was there some official source for France having the highest GDP I can find, including Germany and UCAS? The description of France includes this line: "Germany views France as an economic deadweight" --msde 21:14, 12 Oct 2004 (Eastern Daylight Time)

GDP per capita and population are given in Shadows of North America and Shadows of Europe, and total GDP can be thus easily calculated: France GDP is 2.13 trillion, Germany 3.19 and UCAS 4.816. For GDP per capita, the German one is higher at 32,000¥ if you take the latest number from Shadows of Europe.
