Talk:Italian Federation
From Sixth World Wiki
The material currently posted above -except for the History - is non-canon and largely incompatible with the Italian Confederation as described in Shadows of Europe.
For reference the member states of the Italian Confederation are: The Papal States, Sicily, Sardinia, Mezzogiorno, Rep. Tuscany, Rep. Modena, Rep. Ferrara, San Marino, Lombardia, Valle d'Aosta, Trentino-Alto Adige, Rep. Serenissima, Carnia and Trieste. After the collapse of Italy, GeMiTo (Genoa-Milan-Turin) became an unclaimed no-man's land which has no representation.
The Confederation is nominally governed by a "federal" Council of Representatives with a one-state one-seat one-vote system (the President of the Council gets two) - its powers are mostly limited to international representation, foreign policy, defense, internal commerce and infrastructure and federal taxation.

I cleaned up the Geography section. This Filo person really needs to invest in a spell checker. Someone will have to fork this Geography section to an "unofficial" page and replace it with canon information eventually. I don't have a Shadows of Europe handy, so I leave that task to someone else.

I'm going to try and get round to re-doing this section using Shadows of Europe in the next few days since it's nearly all wrong. One idea I've had is to make it like the Scandinavian Union - a general front page explaining Italy's back history and things like the Council of Representatives Peter mentions and then a seperate page for each of the small states.

That's not a bad idea Simon, although there was precious little space, and hence little detail, for the small states. One of the reasons I'm keeping the Helix on a backburner (possibly use it to update Europe to SR4's 2070's) is that contributions like Filo's could be fitted (assuming compatiblility and some editing) into the overall canon material to provide more local detail and color.

I reverted the erasure of this page by Flak. Sorry, but even if it is unofficial information, I loathe to have it removed entirely. In cases like this, I tend to fork it off as an unofficial page, with a link from the official page. Otherwise, it tends to erupt in the wiki equivalent of a flame war.

Crap, knew I forgot to do something. I've got a copy of the page saved to harddrive to put back up since I couldn't get it to stop linking to the old version. I was going for an erase and then re-posting since that seemed to work. Apologies to whomever's work I scrambled. - Flak
No harm done... this is, of course, a wiki, and any changes made to any of the pages can be easily and quickly reverted by anyone.

Quick question, anyone know why for the Confederation page the order of the 'Capital, Government, etc.' bit at the top right is out of order and the 'Leaders' header has disapeared whilst the Unknown is still there? Very odd. Oh and happen to know the Euro/Nuyen conversion rate is whilst you're at it? :) - Flak
Fixed it. Someone was messing with the templates during the past couple of weeks.
