Tokyo (濱京, Tokyo) is the former capital of Japan, but still remains the largest conurbation in the JIS and perhaps the world. Due to the large urban area, the prefecture of Tokyo is considered a single "metropolis" and uses the name Tokyo-to instead of using the normal ken prefix for prefectures or even the fu for urban prefectures. In 2050, the population of just the prefecture was around 10 million residents, although this may not count the millions of SINless and metahumans, and does not include the larger sprawl known as the Greater Tokyo Area, which also encompasses the nearby Chiba, Kanagawa, and Saitama prefectures. The Tokyo Metropolitian Government is seated in Shinjuku
In 2061, an earthquake destroyed parts of the city. Megacorps started to build the destroyed parts of the city. But the new emperor disagreed. He let planed to rebuild the city with help of priest and other mages. In 2062, Yamatetsu reopened it's offices in the city and the rest of the country.
