Figured I'd move the discussion about a non-canon wiki here, since the Dmitri page will be going away shortly.

Personally, I don't have any interest [or time!] in running a resource devoted to non-canon work. I did that for years (The Shadowrun Supplemental) and ... well, I've been there, done that. I work pretty much full-time on Shadowrun, so my leisure time generally isn't Shadowrun-based.

There are a variety of free wiki-hosting services, such as pbwiki, where anyone can create a wiki and host their own content and collaborate with people.

BTW, if you put four tilde characters after your text, MediaWiki will automatically sign it with your name and a time/date stamp.

Oh! Alright, well, pbwiki, do they do all the hosting? What all does the person using it have to do in order to set it up? You said free, so I'm assuming there's no fee; but do I have to put up my network's bandwidth in order to run it?

pbwiki handles all the hosting for you -- you can sign up for a free wiki right on the front page. It's a pretty painless process! AdamJury 15:41, 26 September 2007 (EDT)

Alright, thanks for your help with this! Apologies on misusing the Sixth World Wiki in that way. I'll see about setting up some kind of non-canon Wiki for people's use. Thanks again!

Non-canon material does not have a place in the Sixth World Wiki. I've tagged the article with Potentially NonCanon, but since it's an admitted piece of Non-Canon work and there's no way to rewrite the entry to be canon, the article will be deleted in one calendar week -- October 2nd, 2007. Question about the NonCanon category. Are characters from Home campaigns allowed on the Sixth World Wiki? That's what this character is, and partly what I was curious about. [Korov]

No; the Sixth World Wiki is not intended as a repository of fan-created material. The Potentially NonCanon category exists to mark articles that may contain non-canon material so they can be cleaned up and/or deleted. AdamJury 16:13, 25 September 2007 (EDT)

Alright, thank you for clearing that up. Also, I was wondering if there isn't some Wiki run by the Sixth World people that DOES deal with non-canon or fan-created material? If not, is there some way that something like this could be created; I think it would help a lot of people who have worked hard on this information. [Korov]
